About
Artist's Statement
My artwork divulges creations of my imagination, of nature, and is derived from my emotions. Creating art alleviates my daily struggles with anxiety disorder and depression. Recently, my paintings have been focused on my exploration of abstract expressionism. Before this I have strictly worked with the female figure, and I love to combine these two. When beginning a piece, I start with an idea of color combinations to inspire a composition. I love to discover various color relationships and utilizing them to establish balance, motion, and evoke moods such as chaos, anxiety, and excitment.
My preferred medium is working with oils on canvas. I want my art to visually scream out emotions through color and movement and intrigue viewers with wonder and curiosity. I aspire to make emotions become visual through my paintings. The art I crave to create and share is something I feel I am very close to reaching. I want to always challenge myself in my work, and explore as much as I can to learn more about what I am painting. I'd like people to undoubtedly feel confused, calm, sick, angry, happy, euphoria, or whatever it is that radiates off my paintings.
